Upgrading to higher output rate
To view instructions for upgrading the Geode to a higher output rate (optionally 2-10 Hz) as mentioned in the manual, such as switching from 1 Hz output to 10 Hz output.
In order to upgrade the Geode receiver you have, we need specific license information that is in the receiver. It is very easy to obtain, just follow the steps below. Just call us if you need any assistance; we can walk you through it:
This process is best done on your PC. Install Geode Connect to your PC from the Geode Connect PC Download found on our website:
http://www.junipersys.com/Juniper-Systems-Rugged-Handheld-Computers/support/Downloads/Geode
Turn on your Geode.
Connect the Geode to your PC via USB, OR connect to the Geode over Bluetooth
Launch Geode Connect. Geode Connect will try to connect to the last device it connected to. If it doesn’t connect, click the circle at the bottom right of the screen to start a search again until it sees your Geode.
Click on the link for your Geode. If you connect over USB, it will be named “Generic NMEA:” (see pic)
Geode Connect will connect to the Geode and the Home screen will appear.
Click on the Terminal View (the fourth Icon). This will show data streaming from the Geode to your PC…
In the data entry field at the bottom of the terminal screen (the white box with the arrow on the right side), click the arrow and select HIDE LOG, then click SEND.
Type into the data entry field $JI then press SEND. You will see the following appear (some numbers will be different):
$>JI,18301541,20,1,20072015,01/01/1900,01/01/3064,1.2Qk03t,0
Copy the text from the terminal window, and paste it into an email window. This is the first of two pieces of information you need to send.
Next, type $JK, SHOW into the data entry window, and press SEND. You will see the following appear (some numbers will be different):
$>JK,SHOW,40,0,00/00/2000,1,OPT=,1Hz,MULTI_GNSS
Copy the text from the terminal window, and paste it into an email window. This is the second piece of information you need to send.
Send the email containing the receiver serial number found on the bottom of the Geode, and both pieces of information to Purchasing. This is what is needed to create the subscription key.
Once the subscription code is generated, we will send an email back with the subscription key. The process is very similar. Connect the Geode to Geode Connect, open the email, copy the subscription key, paste it into the terminal data entry window, and press send. A confirmation will appear.
Contact sales@junipersys.com to purchase the needed subscription key.
