GNSS (GPS) Data Post-Processing

Post-processing raw GNSS (GPS) receiver data can potentially provide (limited) location positioning accuracy improvements. The benefits of post-processing are highly dependent on the receiver hardware. Lower cost receivers often do not support post-processing, or at least may not output the necessary information to provide any benefit after post-processing collected data. Some mid-range cost single band (such as L1 only) receivers can offer limited benefits from post-processing using software and services as listed below.

The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) OPUS service is intended for use by geomatics (certified land survey) professionals using high cost dual-band (L1/L2) receiver hardware. It also requires long term occupation (2 or more hours for Static, 15 minutes to 2 hours for Rapid Static) of a single position for each data point collected.
